Star Trek Cocktails – Drink Long And Prosper

Star Trek Themed Cocktails For Your Wedding Event

Saurian Brandy

Made famous on the original series of Star Trek, it was a popular drink that was served on the USS Enterprise. It was referenced in almost every Star Trek Series and the movies. It has stood the test of time. In simple terms, it is a brandy that the crew of Star Fleet enjoyed.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Vanilla Flavoured Vodka
  • 30 ml Banana Liqueur
  • 15 ml Chocolate Liqueur

In a mixer, combine the vodka and banana liqueur with ice. Shake ingredients and pour into a chilled martini glass. The final step is to gently pour the chocolate liqueur down the side of the glass. This is so it sinks to the bottom and forms a layer and if you like, you can garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Borg Queen

Some argue that the Borg Queen was the most feared villain in the Star Trek Universe. With billions of Borg Drones at her disposal combined with an incredibly advanced alien race, she was a formidable foe.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Green Apple Flavoured Vodka
  • 30 ml Sour Apple Schnapps
  • 30 ml Apple Schnapps
  • Splash Sweet & Sour Mix

In a shaker, combine all ingredients with ice. Shake gently and then strain ingredients into a chilled martini glass. For some garnish, you can add some apple flavoured sugar around the rim of the glass. The sugar can be found at most liquor stores, if not then you can either order it online.

Raktajino

Can’t get up without your morning cup of coffee? Well in the universe of Star Trek people do not drink coffee, they instead drink Raktajino which is a Klingon Coffee! This coffee drink made famous by Star Trek: Deep Space 9. The crew would always be seen drinking the beverage around the station and the famous Quark’s Bar. As far as Star Trek themed cocktails goes, if you feel it’s going to be a long night then perhaps this coffee flavoured mix will hit the spot.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Coffee Liqueur
  • 30 ml Chocolate Liqueur
  • 15 ml (About Two Squirts) Chocolate Syrup
  • 30 ml Butterscotch Schnapps
  • About 30 ml Half & Half

In a mixer, combine the alcohol and chocolate syrup and shake vigorously. Add the half & half and shake gently. Do not shake too hard or it will get too frothy. Pour over ice into a tall glass and enjoy.

Stardrifter

Another drink that was drunk in Quarks Bar on Star Trek: Deep Space 9 was called the Stardifter. It was first seen by Major Kira Nerys when she would go to Quark’s Bar on Deep Space 9. She was asked how negotiation between the two alien races were going at the time. Kira then replied that she needed a ‘Double Stardrifter’.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Orange Flavoured Vodka
  • 30 ml Alize Red Passion
  • 15 ml Banana Liqueur
  • About 30 ml Orange Juice
  • About 30 ml Pineapple Juice

This drink is layered. Make sure you follow the instruction carefully. Firstly, fill a tall glass with ice then pour in the vodka, orange and pineapple juice. You can pre-mix these other beforehand to make things easier, then add Alize so that it sits on top. It may mix a little but do not worry it will taste fine and practice makes perfect. Last but not least float the banana liqueur on the top and enjoy!

Pattern Buffer

What is a Pattern Buffer I hear you ask? Well technically speaking when people in Star Trek teleport to and from star-ships, planets, bases etc their ‘being’ is put into a ‘pattern buffer’ in the computer so they can teleport and end up looking how they started before they teleported.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Coconut Rum
  • 15 ml Grenadine
  • 30 ml Midori
  • 30 ml Creme De Banana Liqueur
  • 90 ml Pina Colada Mix (Liquid, Not Powder)

Pour the Malibu rum, Midori, creme de banana, and pina colada mix into a blender. Secondly, pour around a half cup of ice and blend until it is smooth. In a tall glass, pour in the grenadine. Lastly, slowly pour the frozen mix from the blender into the glass. This gives it the swirled effect you see on the TV show.

Risa Colada

This drink has a fun connection to the TV show. The planet Risa was a ‘pleasure planet’ which was famous for people to come and visit on holiday. The entire planet was automated to have perfect weather for everyone. The tropical climate and fun amenities made it the perfect getaway.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Coconut Rum
  • 60 ml Pina Colada Mix (Liquid Mix, Not Powder)
  • 15 ml Blue Curacao
  • About A 60 ml Scoop Of Ice Cream

This is a swirled drink so follow along carefully to get the best result. Put all the rum, pina colada mix, and ice cream in a blender. Secondly you need to add around a half cup of ice and blend until smooth (add more ice if necessary). Thirdly in an empty glass, pour the .5 oz of blue Curacao. Lastly, you need to slowly and gently pour the frozen concoction into the glass with Curacao to get that swirled effect. Enjoy as is or top with whipped cream.

Orion’s Belt

Interesting enough, Orion’s Belt is a real constellation in our own universe. The reason for this drink being on the list is because James T Kirk mentioned it in the original series when he travelled back in time to the 1930s. Kirk pointed out a star in Orion’s belt. The star he pointed out was from a very famous original series episode.

Ingredients

  • 15 ml Midori
  • 15 ml Coconut Rum
  • Splash Of Pineapple Juice
  • Splash Of Half And Half

Put all the ingredients into a cocktail mixer with ice, shake, strain into a shot glass and enjoy.

Fun Fact: The ‘T’ in James T Kirk stands for ‘Tiberius’, whom he got from his paternal grandfather Tiberius Kirk

Harry Mudd

Harcourt Fenton Mudd was a con artist in the original series of Star Trek. An interesting man who made 500 copies of his wife to remind him that he did not miss her.

Ingredients

  • 15 ml White Crème De Cacao
  • 15 ml Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 15 ml Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 15 ml Goldschlager

Pour all the ingredients into a mixer and shake, strain into a shot glass.

Cardassian Cooler

The Cardassians were first brought to the screen on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as a major race in the series. They were known for being extremely ruthless and one of Starfleets greatest enemies.

Ingredients

  • 15 ml Midori
  • 15 ml Citrus Flavoured Vodka
  • 15 ml Orange Flavoured Liqueur

Combine all ingredients into a mixer with ice. Shake well and strain into a shot glass.

The ever intimidating Cardassian

  • 30 ml Peach Schnapps

James Tea Kirk

The famous James T Kirk! If you have never heard of Captain James T Kirk, then you may have never heard of Star Trek. He is arguably the most famous iconic character across all the series and movies.
